Vietnam Buddhist Academy, Ho Chi Minh City – Thanh Tam Temple’s Vu Lan Gift Distribution
GNO – On the afternoon of August 27th, the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Tam Pagoda, organized the distribution of 450 gifts to households facing difficult circumstances in X. Le Minh Xuan, H. Binh Chanh, Ho Chi Minh City.
The gift-giving event was attended by Venerable Buddhist nun Thich Nu Nhu Nguyet (Thanh Tam Pagoda), Deputy Director of the Academy, Head of the Nuns’ Management Committee; Venerable Buddhist nun Thich Nu Nhu Nguyet (Hue Lam Pagoda), Member of the Executive Council of the Academy, Deputy Head of the Nuns’ Management Committee; Ms. Phung Kim Ngoc, Deputy Chairwoman of the MTTQVN Committee of X. Le Minh Xuan, and other venerable nuns from the Management Committee.
During the event, Venerable Buddhist nun Thich Nu Nhu Nguyet expressed her condolences and encouraged everyone to work diligently, lead a virtuous life, comply with the state’s regulations, and become good and useful citizens to society. Deputy Head of the Nuns’ Management Committee also expressed gratitude to all volunteers who collaborated with the Academy and Thanh Tam Pagoda in carrying out social welfare activities in the past.
It is known that during this period, the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, Thanh Tam Pagoda, distributed 450 gifts, each worth 550,000 VND, including: 10 kg of rice, 1 box of wheat flour, 2 bottles of soy sauce, half a kilogram of sugar, salt, and 200,000 VND in cash, with a total value of nearly 250 million VND.
