Van Lien Temple’s Buddhist Followers Extend Vu Lan Gifts to Needy Tenants
On the occasion of the Vu Lan – Filial Piety season, on August 28th, at the lodging area in Alley 2733 Pham The Hien, Ward 7 (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City), the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in District 8, the Red Cross Society in District 8, Ward 7 People’s Committee, and Most Venerable Thich Le Quang organized a charitable gift-giving event.
Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in District 8, the Red Cross Society in District 8, Ward 7 People’s Committee, along with Most Venerable Thich Le Quang, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Department of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, and Deputy Head of the Red Cross Society’s Support Board in District 8, who is also the abbot of Van Lien Pagoda, organized this charitable gift-giving event.
Representatives from various organizations distributed 100 gift packages (each containing 10 kg of rice, wheat flour, 1 set of clothing, 1 bottle of soy sauce, 1 can of condensed milk) to households facing difficult circumstances in the lodging area of Ward 7. The total value is 35 million VND, sponsored by the Buddhist followers of Van Lien Pagoda.
