Mr. Phạm Văn Thắng, Director of ADC Art and Communication Joint Stock Company (a subsidiary of the Vietnam Education Publishing House), shares his views on the current state of children’s literature and proposes specific solutions.

– From your long-standing experience in publishing and distribution, how do you assess the current situation of children’s books?

Vietnam has a vast array of children’s books, particularly those focusing on life skills training for children. However, there is still a notable lack of essential books for children’s development.

– What do you think are the reasons for this shortfall?

In my opinion, we lack experts who understand both children’s psychology and the field of book publishing. We also need skilled translators who can accurately convey children’s language, making books an enjoyable and immersive experience for them.
– What steps has ADC taken to address this issue?

Originally an Art Department under the Vietnam Education Publishing House, ADC transformed into a joint-stock company after 10 years and has become a leading unit of the publisher. We have educational experts who understand the psychology and developmental characteristics of Vietnamese children and a team of editors adept in children’s language and national culture.
Particularly, we strive to help children develop cognitively, linguistically, physically, aesthetically, emotionally, and socially. To achieve this, ADC spent nearly two years incubating and is set to launch the ADCBookiz children’s book brand on August 19.

We understand that without serious investment, keeping up with global developments, and understanding Vietnamese children, a publishing unit in particular, and an educational organization in general, cannot succeed and sustain in the long term.

– Could you tell us more about the book series that ADCBookiz has published?

Initially, we sought publishers abroad with books suitable for the development of Asian children. Based on this, ADCBookiz launched five series that aid in cognitive development, early brain development, mathematical intelligence, and language intelligence, from three South Korean publishers – Kyowon, Caramel Tree, and Ligem. These series have received high praise from education experts and positive feedback from readers.

– What is ADCBookiz’s strategy to solidify its position in the children’s book market in the coming years?

We believe that with a long-term, sustainable development approach, passion, and years of publishing experience, ADCBookiz will provide valuable and relevant books for children and parents.
