Nhà Bè District’s Buddhist Management Donates Gifts to Agent Orange Victims

GNO – On July 10th, Venerable Thich Thien Tu, Head of the Nhà Bè District Buddhist Board in Ho Chi Minh City and abbot of Duc Phu Temple, presented gifts to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin and other underprivileged residents in the area. This act of kindness coincided with the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2023).
This initiative was organized by the Nhà Bè District Buddhist Board in collaboration with the District’s Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and the Nhơn Đức Commune Women’s Union.
In this program, 51 gifts were distributed to former soldiers, victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, and 30 gifts to underprivileged local residents. Each gift, worth 500,000 VND, included an envelope with cash, rice, noodles, and soy sauce.
The total value of the gifts distributed in this event was 40.5 million VND.
Venerable Thich Thien Tu shared that the Nhà Bè District Buddhist Board regularly organizes these gift-giving programs every month to support people in difficult circumstances, helping them improve their lives.
