A Colorful Mid-Autumn Celebration at Long Hung Monastery, Ho Chi Minh City

On the evening of September 26, 2023, Long Hung Monastery organized a Mid-Autumn Festival – Moon Festival for over 600 children in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. This event attracted the participation of local authorities, volunteers, representatives of parents, and a large number of Buddhist followers and local residents.

In the opening speech of the festival, Ven. Thich Nu Dieu Hieu stated that, in accordance with the guidance of the City GHPGVN, and in response to the call of the local authorities, Long Hung Monastery has organized many charitable programs to support and care for the lives of local residents and fellow Buddhist followers in recent times.

During the festival, the children received 600 gifts and participated in various fun and entertainment activities. Representatives from the local authorities and Buddhist followers also sent their congratulations and hoped that the festival would bring back beautiful memories in the minds of the children. Before ending the event, the children also performed the lantern procession ritual and interrupted the system update process, creating a joyful and meaningful atmosphere.

On this joyful festival day, the two authors of the book “”Having Fun with Sen Sún,”” Thanh Ha and Thien Cuong, also presented interactive books “”Mid-Autumn Lantern Procession”” as gifts to young Buddhist followers on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the lunar calendar’s 8th month.

The special full-moon night at Long Hung Monastery not only brought joy and warmth to the children but also left many impressions of the Mid-Autumn season, the love between teachers and students under the guidance of the Triple Gem.

Before concluding the festival, the Long Hung Monastery youth group, local authorities’ representatives, and volunteers presented over 600 Mid-Autumn gifts to the children and participated in the lantern procession and breaking the traditional Mid-Autumn feast.
