Reviving Old Furniture for Remote Area Students

In recent years, volunteers from the “”””Circle of Love”””” charity group have built and repaired over 3,000 sets of desks and chairs in 30 remote schools in Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông provinces.

The project to repair desks and chairs has been carried out by the “”””Circle of Love”””” volunteer group since 2018.

Currently, the group has built and repaired over 3,000 sets of desks and chairs in 30 schools in Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông provinces.

Mr. Nguyễn Duy Học, the chairman of the “”””Circle of Love”””” volunteer group, stated that the group consists of approximately 50 members, including students and youth.

Some schools are located about 200km away, and volunteers wake up at 4 AM to travel to these schools.

At each school, 40-50 volunteers participate in the repairs in a single day. For some schools with a large number of damaged desks and chairs, it takes about 2 days to complete the work.

Everyone works together from morning until 5 – 6 PM. Despite the fatigue, the volunteers are happy and proud to contribute to the needy schools.

The work of the volunteers includes sanding the desk surfaces, welding reinforcement, cutting wood and metal, and then assembling new desk surfaces.

The new desks and chairs are sturdy and provide extra motivation for students from remote areas to attend school.

Recently, the “”””Circle of Love”””” volunteer group collaborated with the Fire Department and the Youth Union of Ea Kuăng commune in Krông Pắc district to repair 80 desks and chairs.

Over the years, the group has mobilized kind-hearted individuals to support the funding of many volunteer programs for social welfare in remote areas of Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông provinces.

Recently, the group collaborated with the Krông Bông District Youth Union, Đắk Lắk province, and other units to organize the “”””Accompany Me to School”””” program in 2023 in Cư Đrăm commune.

During the program, 200 textbooks, 250 white shirts, 50 backpacks, and sandwiches were given to disadvantaged students.

The mother’s smile was filled with excitement as she received gifts for her child preparing for the new school year. Her child had a broken arm, so she stood in to collect books and a white uniform.

The “”””Circle of Love”””” volunteer group is one of the entities that received the National Volunteer Award from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in 2019. In 2020, the group was also commended by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.
