Peace Through Our Eyes” Art Exhibition Opens at Giac Ngộ Temple
Celebrating Buddha’s Birthday and International Children’s Day
On the afternoon of May 27, 2023 (9th April of the Quý Mão lunar year), the “Peace Through Our Eyes” art exhibition opened at Giac Ngộ Temple, commemorating the 2647th Buddha’s Birthday, the 60th anniversary of Bodhisattva Thích Quảng Đức’s self-immolation, and in anticipation of International Children’s Day on June 1, 2023. Organized by Vietnam’s Wish from May 27 to June 3, 2023, the exhibition features contributions from young artists across the country.
Children’s Participation and Performances
Approximately 500 children attended the program held in the temple’s main hall (1st floor) and meditation hall (3rd floor). The program began with the Búp Sen choir performing two songs, “Em yêu chuộng hòa bình” (I Love Peace) and “Hòa bình trên khắp quê hương” (Peace Throughout the Homeland), composed by Thích Nhật Từ, reflecting the joy of childhood in a peaceful Vietnam.
Visual Impressions of the Event
The event was captured in a series of images showcasing various moments from the exhibition’s opening, displaying the children’s artwork and their engagement with the theme of peace at Giac Ngộ Temple.
